Minneapolis – Twin Cities
Food Support Groups
These groups are focused on providing food and baby/children supplies to families and individuals who are trapped in their homes by ICE’s unlawful actions
- Lake Street Food Drive (LSFDistro on linktr.ee)
A community based organization working with the North County Food Alliance. It is focused on the Lake Street district of Minneapolis. (https://www.visitlakestreet.com/)

Probably the leading food provider for those under siege by ICE, DHH is a primarily Hispanic church in southwest Minneapolis. It has over 3,000 volunteers delivering food to over 14,000 families who cannot risk leaving their homes. (I have seen their logistics operation – it is amazing!) They accept not just money, but also food donations and volunteers

An online news site focused the American food system. They have an excellent article (Jan 27, 2026) on other organizations in the Twin Cities that are providing food assistance for people under the illegal ICE persecution.

Other kinds of help
Supporting people whose civil liberties are under assault needs to be more than just protests and materials (such as food, clothing, money, etc.). There is also the psychological damage that needs attention. This section is for groups that are trying to provide comfort as well as physical support.
(If you know of other non-traditional efforts to help and protest, please share them with us!)
- Knit & Bolt
This yarn shop is collecting small handmade (sewn, knitted, crocheted, etc.) stuffed animals. These ‘plushies’ (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17yywe5iQ4/) are then included in the food boxes being delivered to families, providing the children with something they can cuddle while the world is going crazy around them.
They are also supporting the “Melt the ICE” red hat knitting/crocheting project (see https://payhip.com/shopneedleandskein)
